Blogging Tutorial #1: Simply Blogging
posted by The Editor at 2/21/2006
OK Psyche ladies and future Psyche Bloggers. It seems that a number of you are having trouble posting, so I'm going to start the first of a number of tutorials to make the entire process easy for you. - Simply viewing the blog doesn't mean you are signed in. So, the first thing you have to do is get into your account by going to http://www.blogger.com. Blogger is our bloghost where we have our blog account, and you have to let Blogger know you are you by signing in with the Username and Password you opened your account with. (If you are already signed into your Blogger account, the above link will take you to the Dashboard page and not the signin page.)
You will then be taken to the Blogger Dashboard. It will show that you belong to the Psyche Creative Society blog (as well as any other blogs you are a part of on Blogger) . To the right of that you will see a green plus (+) sign, indicating the link you use to create a new post. Click the Green Plus Sign to create a new post on the blog. (Click Image to See Example)
- You will be taken to the Post Page where you will write your new post to the blog. For all of you who don't know HTML, be sure that the "Compose" tab is selected and not the "Edit HTML" tab. Otherwise you will end up getting pretty confused. At a later time, I will get you all comfortable with some HTML, but right now, let's stick to easy stuff.
- So go ahead and write your post and be sure to give it a title. Then click the big orange "Publish Post" button.
- It could take a second or two for the post to upload to the blog. But once it does, you will see this page. Go ahead and click "View Blog," and it should take you to Psyche Creative Society's blog with your new post on it!

Note: If your post doesn't appear after following these steps to the letter, it probably means you need to refresh/reload the page in your browser. Web browsers remember pages and store them in your cache so the pages don't take so long to load. They will often appear the way they did the last time you visited. Refreshing the page will reload the new information into the browser. PC users can just push the F5 key on their keyboards. Is their a button on Macs that does that as well? Let me know how this tutorial works for the newbies. Also, let me know what you need to/want to learn next, and I will create a new tutorial for you.
Dropping Knowledge
posted by AnGreeWoofDawg at 2/21/2006
Dropping Knowledge is a website that one of our friends sent to me this morning. It is quite interesting..... and there are many activists of note involved. In fact, I'm getting ready to submit a question to it in just a few minutes. From the website: dropping knowledge is an international effort to promote the practice of asking questions. Why questions? Because we believe in their power to challenge fundamentalism and hopelessness and accelerate action-driven solutions. An independent, web-based platform for multiple viewpoints, dropping knowledge produces daily question ads, films, a magazine called Questions and the Table of Free Voices event, all of which invite your participation. So, what is your question? have an excellent, exu-berant day :)

Give Me An Out Once, I danced feverishly. O Time picks you, ferocious brother smoke, naked and laughing when we breathe a marble breeze, as the God of Air squirms above a stiff blue sky current devouring steamy clouds flying after Angels of Peace. Remember which eternity they were in, facing a frozen East garden or a Lunarlit West pool at Dawn's break.

ART LIVES
posted by Jane Crowe at 2/08/2006
How do I put the story down of the dog legged door town? I need to tell the story of the canine shaped quarry where the holy whoretex swirls and flows like a drain unplugged. Year of the red dragon dog. The loyal spirit that's been following me around. I can't put this story down. Take me on a journey through the forest of lights and streets and women's hips swaying to the beat. Up three flights. ART LIVES!. All we have in these dark times anytime I'll be around this low down lovely town. My people come play with me underneath this swirling menagerie of amber and light. We'll have a picnic and drink up dreams of color. Everything shimmers bumps and grinds. Jazz on gay street still in my mind. Tips for dog food.: a cause to support. I'll give red roses and make them all wonder about the glory of their own splendor buried in the depths of hearts swathed in cotton and beer foam. I have nerve endings that extend thousands of miles outside my body around the world picking up emotions, sensory signals, stories & dreams... reaching into other dimensions. I can see the thing behind the thing. The wheel within the well make it spin. Two ton monstrosity pointing to the west. The sky lit up just like that. And no darkness inside of me can deny this majesty. Mystery. Fill me up. Here's my drinking cup.
